Core member | Flight Research Lab (KU-FRL)
KU-FRL is an organization formed in 1959 and incorporated in 1962 to serve the aerospace industry by conducting research related to the development of flight vehicles. The KU-FRL faculty and staff conduct basic and applied research to advance state-of-the-art aerospace vehicles, ranging from uninhabited air vehicles and crewed aircraft to spacecraft and trans-atmospheric vehicles. The principal core competencies of KU-FRL include computational fluid dynamics, applied aerodynamics, structural acoustics, composite materials, adaptive materials, aircraft and spacecraft design, and flight control. The laboratory has facilities for fabricating uninhabited air vehicles and for flight testing aircraft of all types.
